Years of prayers & a style preview

One of the greatest lessons I have learned, being alive for almost five decades now, is that getting to the place we are meant to be is an arduous uphill climb. This climb either continues in vain, or we interrupt the struggle by choosing absolute surrender to the one who made us. And not just once! This surrender is not the natural way of living for humans. It is a choice we make over and over. To make this choice, we have to truly know Jesus, and trust him.

Jesus is always chasing us as we, quite literally claw our way up the cliff. He is right there spotting us, ready to catch us if we fall, waiting for us to say…” I’m done with this death grip… I surrender ! “

As I reflect on the seasons of my life so far, I see this pattern so clearly on repeat. How strong the desire is to fast forward, to somehow get hold of that unattainable map illustrating the quickest route to what we think we need! I’ve come to know that rushing only sets us back. The very best, the Kingdom fruit, the lasting joy we run after can only come from allowing God to shape us and make us according his call for our lives. Getting there is a long walk with Jesus. We need the lessons He wants to teach us. We need him to prepare us to carry out his purpose for our lives. We need to wait for him to make all things work together for our good, and the good of others who are called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28).

My little online diary beginning here with a few simple style snaps and an epic calling is years of prayers in the making. It is not my first rodeo, but this time my creative director is the best there has ever been.

Nothing in my life is separate from Jesus. He guides all of it. This is how I know the time has come to take the hard lessons I’ve learned in faith, life, style, and wellness and share them with you. It is time to talk about how good Jesus is! Ever since I can remember, I have had an unquenchable love for personal style, beauty, and wellness as well as the God given gift of encouraging others. I’ve prayed for years to be able to use these attributes in a way that aligns with God’s call on my life.

Now that I’m an old lady a women of a “certain age”, I’ve had time to walk slowly, with Jesus, to a place where I am unapologetically me. This confidence comes from knowing that I’m rooted in my relationship with Jesus. I threw up a prayer a few years ago… It was something simple, like… ‘Jesus, I feel lost. Please show me who I am… show me the women you created, and help me become her.’

Well, he did! and… I believe this is the beginning of a beautiful community of Jesus loving women who want to explore their personal style and discover deeper faith and fellowship.
